Tor 0.1.2.19 is a software to provide anonymity while you browse the Internet.
It protects your privacy avoiding traffic analysis, a tool that many companies use to know the sites you visit, and where are you physically located.
Tor 0.1.2.19 achieves this by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world.
The program is multilingual, supports 9 different languages.
When you install it, Tor offers you to install four utilities: Vidalia 0.0.16 (a GUI for Tor), Tor 0.1.2.19 (the program itself), Privoxy 3.0.6 (a filtering web proxy) and Torbutton 1.0.4.01 (a Firework extension to enable/disable anonymous web browsing). The whole installation takes 20.6 Mb. from your hard disk.
The Vidalia Control Panel shows you Tor´s state, lets you stop or start the service, lets you view Tor Network Map, change your identity, shows you the bandwith usage´s graphic, and provides you access to the settings of the program. You can even switch Tor´s language, choosing between 19 different tongues.
Advantages:
